Columbia Tamil Kudil is a Tamil school serving children and families across Columbia, Lexington, and the South Carolina Midlands—helping every student connect with language, heritage, and community.

We are a nonprofit Tamil language school serving families in Columbia, Lexington, and nearby South Carolina communities. Our classrooms bring language, literature, and cultural understanding together in an encouraging environment.
Students learn at their own level, build lasting friendships, and develop the confidence to carry Tamil into everyday life.
Columbia Tamil Kudil is also known to many local families as the Columbia Tamil School, SCTS School, or South Carolina Tamil Sangam School.
The CTK experience
Thoughtful instruction, meaningful practice, and a community that celebrates every step forward.
Students build practical skills in speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension.
Age-appropriate Nilai classes help every learner progress with strong foundations.
Stories, arts, celebrations, and community experiences connect language with culture.
Our initiatives
CTK initiatives create more opportunities for students to read, speak, reflect, and experience Tamil beyond their regular lessons.
Read · Discover · Grow
A small, student-focused library that makes Tamil books easier to discover, borrow, and enjoy.
The CTK Library supports our students with age-appropriate Tamil storybooks, literature, learning materials, and culturally meaningful reading. It gives children a welcoming way to explore Tamil outside the classroom and develop reading as a regular habit.
வாரம் ஒரு திருக்குறள்
A weekly recital program where students present one Thirukkural and explain its meaning to the school community.
Each presentation gives a student the opportunity to learn the couplet, understand its message, recite it with clear pronunciation, and describe its meaning in their own words. The program brings the wisdom of Thiruvalluvar into school life—one Kural at a time.
